Warwick is a family winery in the heart of the Cape Winelands between Stellenbosch and Paarl. Farm Manager Michael Ratcliffe is the third generation of the family to run this top quality boutique winery.

From 1771 to 1902 Warwick was known as the farm "De Goede Sukses". After the end of the Second Boer War in 1902, Colonel William Alexander Gordon, Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire Regiment, acquired the historic farm and named it Warwick in tribute to his regiment. In 1964, after an intensive search for the best terroir of the Cape, the farm passed into the ownership of Stan Ratcliffe. Together with his wife Norma, they soon recognised the remarkable potential of this exceptional property and began growing Cabernet Sauvignon. These Cabernet Sauvignon vines produced grapes of astounding quality, which soon generated great demand from neighbouring wineries. Norma's interest in oenology grew steadily and so she decided to study this subject. Soon after, a new cellar was built and Norma began producing her handmade wines from Warwick's premium grapes. In 1984, the first Cabernet Sauvignon was released under the name "La femme bleu". Norma, an absolute natural talent for creating great wines, launched a Bordeaux-style cuvée in 1986, which is still the flagship of the estate today: Warwick Trilogy was born. Warwick's world-class wines have won countless awards and South Africa's Platter Wine Guide did not hesitate to generously decorate the estate's wines with Platter stars!
